Fire Services in Indore
The first Police fire station in the city was established at Motitabela in 1905, by the Holkar King, Maharaja Yashwant Rao Holkar. The fire station was established with the wholesome motive of rendering emergency services in all cases of fires, natural calamities and disasters. At present, there are 6 Police fire stations functioning in the state, one each in Bhopal, Malanpur and Pithampur and three in Indore district. Among many other duties, the main include to save life and property from fire, to conduct rescue operations, to guide Hotels, Hospitals, Factories, etc. on fire fighting arrangements and fire safety requirements, to assist people during natural calamities/disasters, such as, floods, earthquakes etc. The most important function among all these is to educate and create public awareness for fire prevention and fire fighting.
