Culture of Indore
The city is located on the Malwa Plateau in central India. Apart from Hindus, we can also find good number of Christians,Muslims, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists. On the same note, the city has temples, gurudwaras, churches, Mosques and Dargas.
Indore is also known as the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh. Since it has become a center of trade, commerce and learning, lot of people have settled here for occupation and higher studies. It has become an education hub in the recent years. Though most of the people have their own business, others explore opportunities in the information technology sector. Hindi is the official language and spoken by maximum people in the city. Other dialects that one can find here are Malvi, Bundelkhandi and Chatthisgari. You can also find people speaking English, Gujarati, Marathi and Sindhi as people of different cultures are found here.

The city is also no less in good arts and crafts industry, which has a charm of its own.The city on one side has the perfect shopping stock in the local market, on the other hand, there are good malls where one can shop from and also enjoy the ambience and the food outlets in the malls. The first mall to open in the city is named as Treasure Island.

Along with good restaurants, city has one of the most famous food spots called Chappan (56 shops) which consist of 56 shops of food items in a row. The city is praised by the people across the country because of good flavor, taste and varieties of food items. The city is known to have the best kind of various namkeen here.
