Indore Connectivity

Indore is not just the largest city but also the business capital of Madhya Pradesh. It is therefore, well connected with the whole of the country by all the ways i.e. road, rail and air transport services. There are regular services of buses, trains and flights for the visitors’ convenience.

By Air
Indore has a prominent airport named Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport. It is about 8 kms from the city and currently deals with domestic traffic only but is considered one of the best airports in India in terms of everything related to cleanliness, services, infrastructure etc and offers good connectivity from major cities of India. The airport also provides free wireless internet connectivity using Wi-Fi. However, as the airport is expanding, the new terminals are also under construction. The airport has been operating services by at least 5 airlines namely Jet Airways, Jet Lite, Indian, Deccan and Kingfisher.

Indian Airlines: Bhopal, Delhi & Mumbai

Jet Airways: Ahmadabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai & Raipur

By Rail

The railway station of Indore Junction is located on Broad Gauge line which consists of four main railway platforms. It is well covered and furnished with all the necessary facilities and requirements for the passengers. The city’s railway network is part of the Ratlam Division of the Western Railways. Railways connect the city to almost parts of the country. There are direct trains to many places, to name few; they are Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Jammu, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmadabad etc. The sub stations of the city are Laxmibai Nagar (MG & BG), Rajendra Nagar (MG), Lokmanya Nagar(MG) . We can easily find the super fast trains, mail/express trains, express trains, passenger trains, fast passenger trains etc.

By Road

Indore is fairly very well connected to the parts of Madhya Pradesh as well as other parts of the country. To name few, National Highway No. 3 (Agra Bombay), National Highway No. 59 (Indore Ahmedabad),  National Highway No. 59A (Indore – Betul – Nagpur) are the major national highway passing through the city.

The city is connected to all the major and minor cities with good proper roadways. There are private buses of different travels also which have varieties so that passengers can make their choice among Volvo, AC/Non AC, Sleeper/Semi sleeper etc. The major bus terminals are Sarwate bus terminal, Gangwal Bus stand, Navlakha bus stand.

The local transport facility of the city is also very feasible with lots of autos, city buses, cabs, metro cars available to travel and connect within the city. In fact one can rent or hire a cab to commute to the near by places, places like Bhopal, Dewas, Mhow etc.
